Title: Need Speed & Tach Cover!
Post by: warlock214 on May 18, 2011, 11:12:41 AM
I have a '91 GS500e and need the meter bracket (part #11) and the speed & tach cover (part #6) that's in Fig 23 of the Speedo&RevCounter (GStwin Wiki). Any suggestions or where I can order these parts?[http://wiki.gstwins.com/index.php?n=Main.SpeedoAndRevCounter]

Pretty sure you can get them on bikebandit, it won't be too cheap though. My speedo case is cracked from laying the bike down, and I've just wrapped it in gorilla tape until I can find a replacement in my area for cheap-ish. If money's no object you should be able to order it off any parts site, I just don't care enough to buy a brand new one. Good luck

Yeah I know very pricey. I'm thinking bout using JB Weld for plastic and seal the cracks...possible $3 fix this way!!!

That just might work. Black gorilla tape actually doesn't look to bad, I wrapped the whole black plastic case in it and made sure the ends of the tape were between the tach and the speedo, and it came out about as nicely as one could expect.

I got mine from Bike bandit. I think it only cost me $30. I ordered it for the 09 model, because it was cheaper. Cut a hole with a dremel for my tach cable. Worked just fine, not noticeable with the light under it.
