Title: New rider/GS500 Owner in OK
Post by: JoshK on May 20, 2011, 05:50:58 PM
Hey everyone! Just thought I'd introduce myself since I'm finally joining the cool kids club.

Like you've probably guessed from my username, my name is Josh. I'm currently stationed in Oklahoma City (I'm in the Air Force) and I just bought my first bike which is a 1998 GS500E. I've been looking into bikes for a few years now, but was finally able to get into a MSF class a few weeks ago which is a requirement for military members. I picked the GS500 because it seems to be a fairly tame (I use that word loosely... I know that even "tame" bikes can kill you) and can be bought for fairly cheap, but still has more balls than 125's or 250's as I plan on keeping it for a while and think I would outgrow a smaller bike pretty quickly.

Besides this newest hobby of mine, I also enjoy working on cars, photography, SCUBA diving and playing instruments (I dabble in guitar and bass mostly). I like learning how to operate as many different kinds of vehicles as a I can and would like to get my private pilot's license next.

Anyways, thanks for all the information I've been able to gleam from this site already and for all the help I'll probably get in the future!  :thumb:

Cheers,
Josh
