Nice bike,  the "welded steel plate" paint job is kinda cute.

One of my custom bike ideas is to take a R model TL, paint the frame & engine black, hide all the wiring and plumbing and put an S model half fairing on it.

Just to be different.

Seller has 0 feedback and been registered on ebay for over a year.
Restricted to pre-approved bidders (maybe to screen for suckers).
No description of mods.
Requires direct wire deposit.
$2900 Buy-it-Now, too cheap!
This bike should sell for $5000-$7000

Too good to be true....SCAM! FRAUD!

I emailed the seller and asked if I could inspect the bike. Offered to pay cash or certified funds upon delivery if the bike was acceptable. Surprisingly enough, he doesn't answer me. Listings like this have been pretty frequent lately. New Gold Wings and Harleys for less than $10k. All of them restricted to approved bidders, all of them wanting direct transfer of funds, and all of them scams.

A mechanic at my local shop has a real nice TL S. Frame, triples, etc. all flat black, Nice dark blue bodywork, Acerbis fairing, bar end mirror, no gauges, etc. Those bikes are definately under-appreciated for neat street/track projects.

The other mechanic at that shop has a highly modified gixxer 750. Very cool bike. Modified R1 race tail, 1100 motor (that he built from shop scraps - it's a bandit, gixxer, and katana motor melded into one), projector beam lights, etc. The only thing on the bike that is recognizable is the stock tank. Here are some older pics of the project with the original motor and fairings. Still perty neat. http://www.geocities.com/skr00zloose/gsxrpics.html
