So I have had a stomach ache since Tuesday same day turned in to a mild fever and headache. next morning felt ok but still had nausea and mild stomach pain and that has stayed till today. no vomiting yet just stomach issues. have not went to the ER since the is not that bad just annoying and now I got diarrhea..
any blood in the stool..if yes go to ER..if no take somethng for the ach and diarrhea like pepto or OTC and drink lots of liquids. if pain still persist then you should go to ER..'cause it could be a virus, bacteria or parasite
I'm not an MD. I just travel to a lot of developing countries and eat whatever I feel like. :)
Dang I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who is dealing with this crap. " no joke intended"
no, no blood eating and drinking fine (not alcohol) I usually feel like this when I drink but onyl after I was in the hospital with my broken leg I assume all the drugs did something to my stomach. I guess ill keep waiting it out have not taken anything yet so will get pepto tomorrow.
Stomach ache & the runs = you have consumed something your body does not want in it. The runs is one method your body uses to get rid of stuff. Taking Pepto to stop your body trying to get rid of something is working Against your body.
My suggestion: Do NOT hinder your body's efforts by taking drugs to counteract what your body does. If it is something you have eaten and there are toxins involved, you'll need Vitamin C (the body uses it to detoxify toxins and to repair cellular damage). So, get yourself Heaps of oranges and juice the buggers and drink it down. The body will use the Vit C for detoxifying and cell repair and the liquid to replenish that lost due to bowel movements.
Warning: If you have a peptic ulcer than orange juice should probably Not be taken. Juice one orange, dilute 50/50 with pure (filtered) water and drink that so see if your discomfort is made worse or not.

yup do this. keep from being dehydrated. my body does this alot lol. not fun :/
I have lots of stomach issues with my Crohn's the diarrhea is the norm for me when it gets bad 22 times a day with blood! When I'm up that high it can get tricky to stay hydrated. I think you may have a bit of food poisioning though. I'd be easy on your stomach for a couple of days. If you can tolarate going on a liquid diet that would be best drinking powerade or other sports drinks to replace electrolytes if they are too sweet for you mix it 50/50 water. Or get some pedialyte I know its for kids but works for us to. While I don't think milk based stuff is the best for you right now if you are underweight or have othe comorbidities that would make not eating unsafe take some Ensure to replace neutrients.
If you still want to try eating I would resort to the BRAT diet. Banna, Rice, applesauce, and Toast. These are easy for the stomach to digest. I agree with Mister you don't want to stop the diarrhea in your case because your body needs to get rid of something. In my case it is not the problem Immodium works pretty well. If it is not better by Tuesday I'd head into your primay doctor's office to get a checkup they will probably give you some anti-biotics but also know that will give you diarrhea too. You didn't say where the stomach pain was? If it is on the right side in the lower quadrant and it is a gnawing type pain or if you push down on it and that doesn't hurt but when you let go it does that is called rebound pain and is bad news. Get to the ED right away you may be having an appendicitis.
If you start getting nauseated Ginger Ale or Sprite works well for most people. I'm one of the lucky few that Ginger Ale makes me sick as a dog so I drink sprite. If you do end up in the ED for neasea atc. Do not let them give you Phenergan it will kill your veins I ended up with blood clots because of it. Ask for Zofran instead. Hope this goes away soon!
