Title: 2007 GS500F dies when shifting
Post by: Jayhawk on May 31, 2011, 10:18:25 AM
My GS is missing me working on it, so it decided to come up with a new problem.

The problem is its dying when down shifting, and WHILE I STILL HAVE THE CLUTCH IN. It happens as soon as shift and It usually does it when going from 4th to 3rd, but it has done it going from 5th to 4th. I don't even know where to begin working on this problem, so any ideas would be great.

It's either in the ignition or the carbs.Could be electrical but I doubt it unless the bike has been wrecked.Have you checked the vacuum line from the frame petcock to the carb?If you run with the frame petcock on PRI(prime) does the issue still occur?Does your bike have a fuel filter? They're cheap to replace.
