I sold my tuck after moving to MN and bought the 06' GSF for transport. My wife owns the Dodge so I commute with the bike everyday. Today, i was heading to class with a mild thunderstorm warning when the rain just decided to make a godly presence. I have never rode in the rain before and mind you I was on a HWY going 75-80mph. Once I got off the highway, my bike bogged down going up a hill and completely shut off. I opened the gas tank to find 1-2in of gas left and tried to start again, which ended in a failure. I turned the petcock to RES and she booted right up for me. Once I got to my destination I found that the contour of the tank mixed with my riding jacket made it look like I had violently pissed myself from the rain!. This was the start to my week! hahaha
yes tanks are empty with a gallon left. when gravity fed. i was working a 3 day charity event. day 1. took my HD and went out setting up course with another guy. got rained on. spent 4 hours cleaning off nasty. day 2 ride up, got caught in rain. enroute to finish line. spent 4 hours cleaning off nasty again. everythign shiny was dirty. day 3 not much bad weather. but dirt OMG. i didnt bother cleaning it for a week. looked like a beat up redneck truck lmao.
