Title: Unable to get K&N filter on Carbs
Post by: warlock214 on June 07, 2011, 06:53:56 PM
Just got my new set of carbs and I'm unable to re-install the filter. Got one side connected, but unable to line up and put on the other side! Any suggestions?

I am probably wrong, but do the new carbs have the same spacing between the intakes as the old ones?

Could try dipping JUST the sleeves/boots of the filter in some boiling water. Should soften up the rubber enough to get them installed.

Getting the carbs on the manifolds and the filter on the carbs is such a pain in the duck

I have no issues.I don't understand why so many others do.On other bikes I have had issues.I usually lay the air filter/housing in the sun while I work or use a hair dryer to soften the boots.A little WD-40 or swipe of motor oil will help them slide on easier.
