Are there such things as locking oil caps? Cause last night someone decided it would be cool to steal mine.
Or if they really hate you they could remove it, add a dash of sand, and then replace it.
How lame is that,........ :2guns:

That really sucks! I would change the oil just in case crap got in there :2guns:
Well... For my race bike, I drill a hole through the oil filler cap and another through one of the engine mount bolts, and safety wire. Another approach would be to machine the cap so that a tool is needed to remove it.
I would suspect that someone tried to poison your bike, got spooked, and ran off with the oil cap in hand.Oil change is recommended by me also. You would be surprised what annoyed neighbors will do.
Stealing used bike oil? What made you think someone stole the oil?
Sounds like someone doesn't like you.
Makes more sense to pull the fuel line and steal the gas - that you can use in something else.
But steal the oil? Not only lame but a lot of work for only a couple quarts. Steal oil out of the filler cap? They didn't unscrew the drain plug?
Dude - you seriously have a freak that's ticked off at you for some reason.
(Or did you have a senior moment and change the oil but forgot to put some new oil in the bike?)
Addy, sure You aren't having a senior moment? He didn't say someone tried to steal his oil, he said Oil Cap (well, that's how I read it :dunno_black:)
Superglue the bastard in place :thumb:
Thread lock so you need a pair of pliers to undo - will make it so much easier for you to fubar the cap when doing oil changes. :thumb: :thumb:
Park your bike in a more secure environment.

Man that sucks. I cant think of any way to secure it so that someone cant at least get it off to F with the oil. Im not sure how you could lock it. Like everyone said, change the oil and check to see if anything is strange. If it is, flush it a few time.
Also, once you get a new cap stake out the bike at night. Have some large bludgeon, somethat that fires a projectile, large blade etc. nearby to confront the bastard when they come back. :icon_twisted: Make sure they understand not to F with your shaZam! again!
Trying to avoid senior moments. Mostly blond moments this week with an occasional geezer episode.
I guess you can read this either way - as cap or oil (if talking about locking gas cap, I think we would have assumed stealing the gas):
"Cause last night someone decided it would be cool to steal mine."
Super glue :thumb: You can drain the oil from the drain plug. Then to put oil back in, hang the bike upside down and pour new oil into the drain hole.
What really happened? Did the oil cap get stolen or just unscrewed? If you want to fuggle up a bike, there are so many easier, creative ways: wire cutters, cut the fuel line, superglue the lock, push it over, turn main fuel valve off (under the tank), stick a bolt into a hole in a brake rotor (you'll go maybe 1/2 tire rotation until BAM!), or.....
If you want to be creative and drive someone insane - short the side stand switch. Every time you go into gear - she dies! Or disconnect the clutch switch!
Are you a Redditor?

Def. I am a redditor, and they took the cap, not the oil...
i don't really understand but i am starting to think that spiking the oil was not the motive.
others mentioned, that logically if they wanted to f%$k my motor up they'd dump something and then replace the cap
whereas this asshat took the cap, the bike cover and flipped my engine kill switch (which i never, ever, ever touch) and turned my left hand mirror upside down...
:cookoo:
im going to do the wire locking thingy as people have suggested after 2 oil changes and a filter change...
:dunno_black:
thanks all
Could maybe cut down the center of the tab so that it's 2 little tabs instead of 1. Then shorten both of them a little so you need a small, flat piece of steel to pry it open.
I think one of your buddies may be messing with you. Or you pissed someone off.
