Title: Hose size to bleed brakes 3/16??
Post by: Tombstones81 on June 08, 2011, 05:16:04 PM
Long busy day shopping ($150 biweekly car payment paid off!  :thumb: )
Got a ton of stuff for the bike. (from bolts to cleaners, fluids and paint)

Forgot the darn clear tube to bleed the brakes tho. (fluids pretty dark)
Also forgot the size so its a good thing I did.

is it a 3/16 tube like the few videos I've watched said?
Havnt watched one for the GS500 tho.
So im just making sure I get the correct size when I stop for it otw home from work tomorrow morning.

I use one of those clear plastic vent hoses that come with a replacement battery.  Fits bleeder screw end knob tightly, must be about 3/16 ID.  If your bike is handy just take off that black rubber cap and measure the knob end of the bleeder screw.

I've used 1/4 and it worked fine, no leaks.

3/16 inside diameter(id) hose with 1/4 inch outside(od) diameter.
