Title: sell with fairing or without?
Post by: gaspy on June 10, 2011, 02:02:57 PM
Hi everyone,
it's been a while since I've posted, but I lurk every so often. I'm pretty sure I'll be selling my 2005 gs500 soon. Living in NYC it's been a pain to deal with parking, crazy traffic congestion, lunatic cabbies, bicyclists, and pedestrians. For now I'm just bicycling, but I'd like to return to motorcycling one day.

I digress, though. The point of this post - should i try to sell my bike with the fairing off or on? Right now it's set up as a naked bike w/ SV mirrors and an SV headlight. I removed the fairing several years ago but could throw it back on. Any advice is much appreciated.

I'm almost positive you'll be able to find someone in this forum who will want to buy just your fairing. What color is the fairing?

[edit] I'm guessing it might be black/red from your sig? And I guess I didn't really answer your question. Maybe you should just do whatever is most convenient for you. Is it more trouble to put it back on or to sell the bike and fairing separately?

I'd sell it with fairing installed.  Stock bikes, cars, etc. almost always sell for more in stock form

Thats true, that is why whenever i mod anything that i know i will sell one day i keep all original parts so one day i can return it to prestine brand new immaculate stock condition and fetch the best possible price  :thumb:

P.S I too have taken my fairings off and will be putting them back on end of year ready to sell

Either way you can resale the unused parts to make a little extra money.
