Title: WTB Tachometer
Post by: Tombstones81 on June 15, 2011, 02:49:47 PM
Need a tachometer that is a direct swap with a 94 GS500.
Not the electric ones.
Has to be 2003 or older.

MUST have both bolts in tact in the back of it.

Would just ask for the whole setup but I dont have $100+++ available atm.

Only actually need the tach as both rear mounting bolts are broken on current one, everything else is A'ok.

Thanks

I have one. How much are you looking to spend? Mine has a little rash on the back cover... But I have a spare cover you could probably use.

$50 shipped. (its all I got left in my paypal after buying bar end mirrors and a headlight bucket)
And seeing as I've seen some entire clusters go for $100 average on here.
and the tach is Almost half the setup.

little rash is perfectly fine, as long as Both bolts in the back are perfectly fine and it works. (sick of my bolts being broken and rattling and getting my attention thinking its a diff part on the bike rattling)
the rash will be hidden inside the bucket.

I think, it's just the bucket that's rashed. I'll go ahead and pull it out when I get home. Will inspect the bolts. I suspect someone will want the speedo at some point, so I'm not too worried about splitting them out.

Don't mean to jack the thread, but if the buckets are just rashed I might be interested in them, it'd be a relatively cheap upgrade from mine, which are currently held together with gorilla tape.

yeah my bucket is fine so I have no need for that, just some scrapes on the tach side from my wipe a few weeks back.

But the tach bolts were broken when I got the bike.
Well the plastic housing was broke that held the bolts that is.

kk if all is good, im home for another 2 hrs then off to work.
so msg me before then if u can and I'll send the money before i go to work.
if later then that, I'll do it first thing when I get home in the morning.

a good buy for me right now too as I just got one of many packages today that had the replacement rubber for below the speedo and tach.
pointless to put on right now as the tach from behind is held in place by zip ties in 2 places but 1 broke, so now its not securely held down tight.

Too bad I don't have the money right now or I would buy the speedo from burning1 also, since I dont have the trip meter reset on mine...

Sorry, spent most of yesterday working on the SO's CBR. She's very happy to be riding again. I'm at home, I'll go ahead and pull out the tach.

PM Sent. Tach is in good condition - no scratches, or other obvious flaws. Not bolted tight to the bucket, but the bolts themselves seem to be properly solid.

Jeff: Speedo is also in good condition. 5243 on the clock, and the trip meter works fine.

Ryott: Bucket is solid, just some light rash. I'll send it your way for the cost of shipping/packaging when something else goes out.

Finally put it on yesterday and works perfectly :)
So nice to have one with actual Mounts that isnt rigged on because of broken bolts and rattles :)

But tnx for the offer
