Title: Exhaust question
Post by: DaielHancock on June 16, 2011, 01:37:04 PM
im looking at this exhaust on ebay which is a nexxus motad exhaust, i has come off an earlier gs500, it doesnt say the year but he is saying gs500e, does that mean pre 2001? i believe they lost the e and went with k1 k2 etc ? not 100% sure correct me if im wrong. Would a pre 2001 gs500 performance exhaust such as the one mentioned earlier fit on a 2004 gs500?

the "e" designation is 2001 and earlier, and the exhaust on all GS500's is the same size.

Whoaaaaa. We need to clear this one up.The "E" model doesn't have fairings. The "F" model has fairings.2001 is when the US stopped getting "E" models. Some other countries did get "E" models a little longer. This doesn't affect the exhaust as they are one of many components that never changed on the GS.

Ben2go is right.  My response was decidedly ethnocentric.  Other countries still get GS500Es up to the 2009 model.

Here in Oz they're not called E's after the shape change. They're simply called GS500's and the fared versions GS500F.

If you're getting a full exhaust that wont be a problem, I didn't realise it was a full exhaust you were looking at lol
