Title: Timing Advance question

I have been looking into the Timing advance DIY and I have one question, Is this mod ment for newer bikes? I have a 2008 GS500

No.It is on the 89 to 02.I do not know of anyway to control ignition advance on the new bikes.The ignition advance is handle by the electronics after 02.

I can guarantee you the DIY timing advance does work on later models as well - although the ignition hardware changes, the principles timing advance and the end effect is the same.
I made the advance mods to my 2004F and found it gave better throttle response and low-end torque but it felt a little breathless at high revs.
