Hey guys. So iv herd that switching out your stock sprockets with smaller teeth ones can increase your acceleration on your gs. I was wondering if you guys could post a link to afew sprockets that would give me some more power off the line. Also can i just replace the sprocket and im i good to go? I dont have to do anything else? I have a 2009 gs500f

Quicker off the line? Then it's a smaller sprocket up front or a larger in the rear. And you're supposed to replace both sprockets and the chain all at once. Or the old parts wear out the new parts. How many miles are on your bike now?
I just hit 1000 miles yesterday.
front sprocket 25 bucks
rear sprocket 60 bucks
get a 15 T front... quicker
or Get a 14 T front.... much more silly....but you lose top speed
buy one sprocket and you will be fine
look on any website.... not hard to find
A quick question...
Why do you want to be able to take off quicker? The GS beats just about all cars anyway. And the quicker start you think you get is only initially. Maybe you aren't changing gears correctly to get the acceleration you want :dunno_black: :dunno_black:
Let's face it, at 1000 miles, if you're following the manual, you shouldn't be taking the bike above 8,000rpm but you're still used to not taking it about 5,500rpm

Yeah agree w/previous comments. Once my '09 was broken in, I was more than happy with the accelleration. During break in I took it easy, but the bike really came alive around 1200-1500 mi. After some trial and error, I've found you can really rip the throttle a lot more than I was and get some good power out of the bike. Before monkeying with sprockets or anything mechanical honestly, I'd wait for it to settle in after break-in.
