Thought it would be neat to have a 'Before & After' thread where you could post how it looked when you got your bike vs how it looks now, or how it looks finished. Old project pic's OK!!!! I find myself skipping through project threads from beginning to end to see the outcome rather than all the tedious pictures of 'where the guy mounted his bracket for a new headlight.' Here are a couple of mine,...

Before and after... :icon_mrgreen:
Well, the bike looked like this when I bought it (minus the windshield and original steering bar):
(http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/2804/gs500du2.th.jpg) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/59/gs500du2.jpg/)
This was the actual ad pic. After it was taken, PO dropped it on the right side, broke the windshield, warped the steering bar (installed WRP aluminium bar), and scratched the right crankcase cover.
And now it looks like this:
(http://img802.imageshack.us/img802/304/dsc01100cu.th.jpg) (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/802/dsc01100cu.jpg/)
Between those two pics... this happened to it:
1. 35mm longer (than original) fork spacers + 15W fork oil
2. Dual front calipers/discs mod (pretty easy mod, using two right side fork legs)
3. Bar risers
4. Puig Windscreen
5. H4 bi-xenon headlight
6. SV650 (K5) rear shock
7. Bandit rear wheel with 150/60-17 tyre
8. Home made automatic chain oiler
9. Small(er) blinkers
10. LED stop lights
11. Some eBay cheap-o mirrors
12. CBR 600 F2 engine
13. CBR front and passenger footpegs
14. Honda CB400 SF (replica) gauges - total crap ripoff, I'll never ever buy anything from that eBay seller again!
... That's about it for now, next mod is Hornet or Fazer or whatever adjustable (and affordable) front end. :icon_mrgreen:

i still need to put the Decal Suzuki Stickers, Glossy Black Strips on the middle, Tank Pad Guard Sticker, and Change the
Turn signals, and of course, the Cross Sticker on the FlyScreen, that's a must...
Oh yeah, all the Stickers and Decals are all Reflective
Just gotta love Exodia...
Exodia,...looks clean! Very nice!
Thank you cbrfxr67, tried to keep it clean
How did you polish those rims? Also what rear is that on the gs? It say something 650...

Joshr08 has a stock rear wheel and the lips are polished.A Katana 600 wheel will work but has straight spokes.I run a Bandit 600 rear wheel with a 160-60-17 tire rear and 120-60-17 on the GS front wheel. The 160 is to wide.Bandit 600 rear wheel looks like the GS wheel and is 4.5 inches wide. That is where it all ends.It took dgyver and myself a whole day to fit the wheel in the swing arm.He machined new spacers and re worked a few. Then I had to spread my swing arm 1.25 inches to allow the cush drive to be spaced out to keep the sprocket on the hub.The Bandit 600 wheel isn't worth the effort. If you want matching wheels get both straight spoke wheels from a Katana 600.The front fits but needs everything changed over from the GS wheel.
my rear rim wasnt stock. it was a kat rear tire. search for polished lip or something like that i did a write up on how to do it.

Oh ok.I thought you were on the stock rear rim.Sorry for my confusion.
Would someone please explain why none of the skilled / talented people seem to live near me? I drool over half the projects I see on this website (though "bobbers" make me VOMIT!), and although I've been a motorcycle junkie all my life, my "skills" are practically non-existent.
Just grab some tools, find a busted bike and get on it! :thumb: oh and post a build thread.
or you could post your location and see if anybody is near you.......

I saw your pics where you widened the rear frame for the swing arm(lever). That is some great work.
