Title: adjusting rear shock
Post by: karma krama on July 10, 2011, 08:16:41 PM
There is a lever which adjusts the rear shock in the tool kit, right? No tool kit comes as standard delivery in Cambodia so, how do I adjust the shock quickly  :dunno_black:?

There was another post on here that I found quite useful. It says to put it up on the center stand, get a really long flat tipped screwdriver (a tough one, thats not going to snap on you), and use a hammer to hit the bottom of the screwdriver, therefore turning the adjuster. It worked for me, and stiffening the ride made a huge difference.

thanks for the tip. funny, I'd always done just that when dealing with trail bike height issues.

To adjust: Which rotation direction accomplishes which adjustment?

If you imagine the shock from the top, rotating the collar clockwise increases preload, rotating it counterclockwise decreases preload. There are 7 settings, 1 being the softest, 7 being the hardest. If you look on the collar you'll notice the numbers stamped into it. If you go past 7 back to 1 it'll make a noticeable ping/clunk noise, then you can just count the clicks until you get to your desired setting.
