Title: Seat Lock
Post by: A.Milos on July 12, 2011, 12:11:46 AM
So I did some searching, but all I could find was complaints about seat locks falling out. I have the opposite problem, I cant figure out how to take the seat lock off my 02 gs500 (no F).

I cant see any screws, fasteners or latches that would release it. Any help? Whats the trick to removing it? Thanks, A.

P.s. My bike is halfway through a rear plastic transplant, the poor girl has her privates showing...

Updated, the PO must have dropped her at some point, because the centre fairing piece is plastic welded to one side, and before I chipped enough off to matter it occured to me they probably had good reason. So. Now, I still need to know about the lock for future reference. Off to find myself a new centre fairing piece in either silver or black to post to australia (hint...)

But still, any help with the lock would be killer.

A.

Search any one's parts list for "seat lock". In the exploded parts diagram, you'll see the lock is held on bv a squarish U shaped metal clip.Slide it up and out it comes.

Thanks, I'd read about screws for the lock in other posts! Perhaps that is for earlier models though.

I s the exploded diagram in most owners manuals?

Most all Suzuki dealers have parts diagrams for ordering parts. Other parts sellers also have parts diagrams, like thos place has:
