Post by: afterbooster on July 13, 2011, 11:02:53 PM

sorry guys but the frame, tank, plastics, carbs, seat lock (just the keyed portion), and ignition went last night to adidas. I wasn't able to post with the server going down for a bit.
The headlight I found out will fit my 86 dirt bike with a 6V headlight, so I think I'm going to hang on to that.

Yea, we're parts whores here. We have the yellow tank & tails that were originally on Trey. Is that what you need? Trey might now go from purple to blue. A girl here with a purple GS500 could use Trey's purple to clean up her damage. We swap parts all over the place. If she takes Trey's, then her purple tank (paint damage from a gas spill) would be available for someone to repaint. Let me know what you need and we'll see what we can find for you - though may have to repaint, things wouldn't be dented or rusted.

Thanks,

Do you still have the Speedometer/Tachometer black cover?
Title: Re: Parting out 89 gs500e
Post by: adidasguy on August 10, 2011, 05:07:05 PM
Sorry - I got the speedo-tach and mountings for our bike build.
(But as one would expect - no blue cap for the high beam. What is it with that darn blue cap? Everyone's always missing them. Why do they always fall out? I did find one in a box-o-bolts. Go figure?)

PS: Garret, if you don't mind waiting a couple weeks.....  I do have extra headlight cowls. Not sure of how many sets of mountings but can show how to make some. Some cowls need a little repair and paint, a couple are new (i.e. unused OEM), one is an after-market which is nice. Will post when we sort out everything in the new bike cave.

Also have a set of black mirrors. Few minor scratches on the plastic as I'm replacing Trey's with new OEM's. Will post that, too in a week or so. Got chain guards and other assorted stuff I'll put up for sale rather than try to store.

Got the starter motor,  etc. Thanks.
Now we need to inventory what we have to see if there is anything else we need.
