So i had come across the exhaust article on wiki, noticing that you could fit an r6 slip-on, with minimal mods. I wanted to upgrade my exhaust, without spending $350+ for Yoshi's or Jardine's. I came across this company called Delkevic which sells a slip-on package. It consists of a muffler, mid pipe, clamps, and muffler hangar, all for under $200. I could not find anything on youtube, or much on here about these systems, so I wanted to throw the heads up out there that I'll have mine installed soon. It should come in on Friday, and I should have it mounted by Saturday. I will post pics and vids. The most similar video I found on youtube was an sv400 (yes I know it's a v-twin, but its still 2 cyl, and similar displacement) and this thing sounded so radical. I can't wait :)
Delkevic are a quality manufacturer of motorcycle exhausts. Spend $500 or $200 they will all sound pretty similar on a GS no matter what brand exhaust you use.

To really have the exhaust fit well, I had the midpipe welded instead of the clamp, and also had a friend put a slight bend in it at his shop
It turned out well, and sounds really good at idle, but quite loud at full throttle

I bought it from Ebay, it was around 150 or so, cant remember the exact price

That system came out really well. It looks nice. I opted to go with the 9'' DS70, carbon fiber to go with the black/yellow paint scheme. I'm going to try using a spacer on the exhaust hangar as the gstwin wiki mentioned for the r6 slip on. Delkevic says you don't have to rejet. I was wondering if you had the chance to run yours on stock jets, and if so, how did it perform? I'm pretty sure mine are stock, not sure what the PO had, but I know the jets are adjustable unlike stock.
and btw, the exhaust is due to be in by Friday, so if all goes well, it'll be on by the end of the night.
I didnt get a chance to run it with stock jets, It actually was running rich on the top end with the 142.5 main and k&N drop in filter, Once I added the Lunch box filter it ran better, I still could have dropped down a size to the 140, as it was still ever so slightly rich on the top end

I just got the exhaust in, and I'm wondering where you cut it. There's that piece thats about 3'' long after the 2-into-1 thats a smaller diameter than the "link pipe" I was wondering if thats the part that I should slip on, or if I'm supposed to slip over the bigger diameter pipe. I'd like to make only one cut to make it easier to convert to stock if ever needed, thanks.
I cut it about 2 inches after the 2 into 1, then slide the new pipe over the 2 inch stub
The existing pipe is slightly smaller than the new mid pipe, thats why I got mine welded, I couldnt get it to seal properly with the t clamp, I even tried cutting 1 inch slits into the midpipe to allow it to shrink more, still didnt seal as well as I wanted it to
hmm, thats why I'm wondering what I should do....I read that R6 slip ons were a "direct fit", sort of. the link pipe of the delkevic looks like it would slip on the larger diameter of the stock pipe.
Thats the problem with buying parts not specifically made for your bike, they are never going to be "direct fit"

Did yours sound anything like it? the video itself is kind of crappy and sound is too much for the little phone it was taken on. Other reviews i have read on the exhausts sound good, great product for the money.
I'm keeping the filter stock for now. I'm having carb problems stock anyway, so it needed rejetted. Not a bad excuse to throw a can on right? ;)
I am interested in buying a full exhaust from this company since it doesnt seem like there are many companies left out there producing full exhausts for the gs. (correct me if im wrong)
My question is, will this exhaust have to be unbolted in order to get the oil filter out everytime i do an oil change?
