All 6 of my GS's are non cali bikes and I have eliminated all the vacuum hoses and plugged the carb vacuum ports.

Hi ben2go..... I'm curious.... why would you remove all the vacuum hoses? What effect would that have?

It's less places to cause a vacuum leak and poor running. It doesn't affect performance. It can help with reliability if your hoses are old.I have no vacuum connections at all.I used a Honda CRF250X petcock to eliminate the constant pain in the but stock vacuum petcock. My write up is here. http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=56352.0
