Title: Exhaust options for the gs500
Post by: junk301 on July 21, 2011, 06:24:08 PM
Ive checked gstwins and I know of all teh aftermarket exhausts avalaible however i am looking for a shorter exhaust to replace my yoshi can....My mechanic mentioned to me that I could cut my can in half....The reason Im even thinking about this is because there is a huge hole in my exhaust on the top 1/3.  anyone ever do this or know of any shorty pipes that can fit on my bike???

I know of no shorter mufflers that fit.Cutting a muffler down will make the bike unbearably loud and will probably get you on the cops radar. If you do cut a muffler down, use some quality packing. This is what I use.http://www.rockymountainatvmc.com/productDetail.do?navType=type&webTypeId=51&navTitle=Exhaust&webCatId=18&prodFamilyId=20051

The can I've got on my bike is labeled as a Yoshimura RS-3, not sure if it comes like that or if you'd have to get it cut down, it came with my bike.
