So i ordered some 7/8 bar ends and new grips.. the grips fix great but the bar ends are to large to fit into my bars... Is this going to be a normal problem (aka i should just go to a sealed grip) or is it relatively cheap to find bars these ends will fit?
What kind of bars do you have? I've got some Renthal I'd like to try and they are aluminum with smaller I.D. than standard steel 7/8 bars so most bar ends don't fit.

Those are the ones i bought.
He states Fits 7/8" bars which would make you think he understands the OD of a bar is 7/8 and the ID is smaller..
Here in Nova Scotia you'll fail your annual motorcycle safety inspection if you don't have bar ends installed. Ask me how I know. >:(
7/8 is the standard handlebar size for a ton of motorcycles so those should be fine. I've become a barend removal and installation master recently (someone knocked over my bike in the parking lot and bent the bars...) The method that worked best for me is backing out the screw all the way, carefully installing the rubber piece and nut into the handlebar with the help of some oil, and then threading the screw into the nut through the bar end and washer, but I've heard of other people that like to keep the whole assembly together.
Tight fit is good -- karate chopping a loose bar end back into place every few hundred miles is very irritating. :laugh:

The nut that holds the assembly wont even fit into the end of the bar... I have to drill out part of the bar to get it to fit in...
same problem here. got a set of woodcraft bars, cut the end off for my bar in mirror, and the ID is too small to fit my orignial spacers for the mirrors.
drilling/grinding out the ID of the bar was my first thought, but too much trouble to get a quality work out of it.
so i'm going the other route of getting a smaller aluminum spacer made at a local shop.
maybe you could find a smaller size(same threads, just smaller) nut?

Naa cause the rest of the bar end (the base that goes into the bar) also wont fit.. took the space and bolt out to just try and fit it and it wont fit in...
