Mine is $62.00 per year for me and a passenger. Not comprhensive though. Dont think anyone would steal a gs in norman oklahoma.
$75/year for Liability.
I think I was quoted about $350 for Comp with a $500 deductible. Why bother? The bikes book value is only about $1500.
peace
$154/year - bunch of tickets.
$35/month cdn for full coverage
$320/yr full coverage, $500 (or $200, cant remember exactly) deductible.
36, married, multiple cars, professional discount, los angeles (higher rates).
okay, i think i'm getting screwed without KY here. I think i pay something like 1,000 a year. granted i have 3-4 tickets and a "chargable accident" within the past 3 years, but everyone else seems to be more than half that. what gives? btw, i'm with progressive.
tickets and accident put just slightly above the devil in the eyes on insurance compnies.
Mine was $220/year for full coverage with one ticket on my '01 model.
Mine is $0 :)
....but seriously, $1000 per year??? Crap, my TLR is around $450/year for liability with Allstate. Progressive has had some of the highest rates that I have seen.
I'm paying ~$300 a year for a good amount of liability coverage and theft from State Farm (29, single, no tickets, no accidents, etc.). Although my agent has been real good to my family for years, especially when accidents happen, and I'd keep my car on the plan, next year I'll be shopping around for insurance on my bike. It's not like I'll be waiting for the insurance company to pay to fix my bike or medical when I get injured, cause that's not covered!
Insurance really really sucks on Long Island. Someone needs to remove a million or so people from here and life would be so much better! :guns: Damn, out of ammo :P
$50 per year. Added onto my existing AAA car insurance.

$220/yr for $30,000 personal injury and 100,000/300,000 coverages. No comp or collision. 21, No tickets, one car/deer accident. Im with Progressive through a company called First Financial Net out of Detroit. Their rates were 1/2 of the cost of Progressive's online rates.
$500/yr CDN for an '89
Bike valued at $1000, $500 deductible, $1,000,000 third party.
For Comparison...
Buddy 1 pays $2500 for his 2003 Yamaha R1
Buddy 2 pays $2200 for his 2003 Honda CBR600RR
$650.00 CDN/year for my '02. $500.00 deductable, full coverage.
19 yearsold, student, in Calgary.
$125.00 for my '96 with Progressive.
50 w/ comprehensive added to my AAA
or -50 w/o comp
I chose comp
WTF!!! We as Canadians are getting screwwwwwweeedd!! :( :nana: :bs:
I am paying about $750 and going up all the time. I am 34 yrs old, married, professional and have not had a ticket in over 10 years.
Next season I am going to drop the collision to save some $$$ because I hope to get my second bike on the road too.

Yeah, right.
Who doesn't have to pay for health care?
Who are the ones getting screwed?

Are you under 25? Or worse, 21? The biggest drop will come when you turn 25 - and then when the points start dropping. You're a high risk with accidents and moving violations - and a young age just seals it.
I'm 33 and i pay $79 for liability only. Since I have a full time sweetie, i purchased permanent life insurance to the tune of $600 per year - but that gets paid back in the benefit if i go before 100 years old. If you're gonna ride and have bills to pay, it's really a good idea to get life ins if you can. ;)
$75/yr with Progressive. Liability only. I was quoted $250 for full coverage, maybe next year. 35, married, no tickets, one accident.
Yep, big drop when the age bracket changes. Just have to weather it out.

Liability only, $37 per year, per bike. Here in Texas it seems to just be based on your driving record and years of riding experience. My Gold Wing, Ninja, GS and CB175 all cost the same.

0 accidents

Amen to that!
240 euros. liability & coverage for theft, vandalism & fire. I'm 22 years old, never had accidents.
(240 euros is about 280 dollars)
500 euro/year WA with theft and firedamage
i'm 21 with 3 damagefree years

I should just move out to California right now.
My earlier quote with geico was 170 for the year (liablity) and 780 for full coverage. I only took liablity since that's all I could afford.
However a year later my financial situation is a lot better than it was a year back and i could afford full coverage.
Geico was still in the 600 range, progressive was 850+, and then i went with bikeline and it came up to 400 for the year full coverage.
SO I just signed up online with bike-line.com insurance. Should get the paperwork next week and then i can send them teh stuff they want. A picture of the bike, the old insurance company paperwork and my DL and MSF course card. Its sorta weird that they wanted the bike's picture. Oh well I will take one and send it over.
I really need to keep full coverage, since i am paying for the bike still. So technicaly running liablity is a risk but atleast i was carrying insurance. Plus with full coverage atleast my mind will be clear and not thinking i am on liablity only.
More from Canada, in British Columbia my annual premium, full coverage is Can$1250 (about US950) and I've got years of accident free record.
!00 bucks a month to drive a standard bike is way too much; mostly for accident benefits for driver and passenger.
Anne, I also pay separately for B.C. Health coverage through the Govt.......free it ain't. Add to that the cost of Additional med benefits which I pay at work and it's clear the Govt Insurer is deeper into my wallet than a proctologist........well, you get the picture. :x
I am 41, 1 ticket and 1 minor accident claim and I will be paying $120 per year for Liability only on a '99 Triumph T-Bird, $168 for full coverage, ($250 ded.), on a '94 Concours and my son, (19, single, no tickets, no accidents - Thank You Lord), pays $278/year, (correct me if I'm wrong Mr. Slush), for liability only on the '02 GS500 we "both ride" - it would've been much higher w/o me as an occasional rider on the policy, even though I hardly ever get to ride it. This is all through Progressive which had the lowest online quotes we've found.
To Pam G - Canadians DO have to pay for their Medical Coverage. Maybe some don't have to write a check for it but have you ever compared the average Income Tax rates between Canada and the US? Besides, they still have to live in Canada. Uh oh, did I just say that out loud? :P
Reply to Pam G:
Hah! do you think that Doctors in Canada work for free???? or perhaps we build hospitals out of snow and ice maybe?
It's not free healthcare ... it's just that everyone pays. Not only do I pay for myself but a little bit for every other guy that is out of work (for whatever reason) or doesn't have benefits at work.
And .... since I'm on a rant ... I also pay for every dumbass who wrecks his car after drinking and driving and every guy/gal who gets lung or heart disease from smoking etc etc ..... must I go on?
Think about it ...
Anyway I'm kind of half joking ... I'm not really mad about it.

One hundred and forty notes per year, two hundred excess, fully comp with NG the brokerage also gives roadside recovery, legal and "unisured loss" like your excess or luggage etc,. Also covers me for business use. This, by UK standards is cheap but them I am amazingly old. Not quite as some of the tribe of the Cantii who are still smarting after the kicking we got from the Romans but getting on that way.
237 per year liability only
24year old male one ticket (running a red light) married But it became 560 for full coverage which only covered 1000 in medical and had a 1000 dollar deductable state farm doesn't like motorcycles and they don't recognise msf discount

I hope you didnt mean that. I personally am much happier living in a country where health care is universal no matter who you are. I find it disgusting that someone without insurance can sit and die in an emergeny room, when someone with health care who needs a couple stitches can be stitched up, signed the papers, and on their way.
Im not a big fan of the melting pot society. I think the Canadian way of is a wonderful system.
I love both countries, they are just quite differant.
If Canada and The US were in prison, youd be our Buddha Loves You. We are bigger and on top
$208/yr in Austin, TX. Full Coverage less collision. 40yo male, married, clean record.
Hi,
I am paying 450/year for full coverage with Dairyland Insurance. 25 years old, MSF and no violations. Just checked with bike-line. They have given me a quote of 220$/year for full coverage. Damn! Can I cancel my current insurance? Will the refund my money?
-Kid
Approx. $800 Cdn - single, female, age 33, no accidents, no claims, M2...
Cheers..
Kidproquo, if your are serious take a look at the policy, there is usually a percentage cancellation penalty but it might still be worth it, do the maths but it's probably best to stick with it for this year then shop around. I recently had a renewal quote, phoned them with the old "Your 'avin' a laugh aintcha" routine and got a much better deal. There is nothing magical about financial services, they are just goods on a market like everything else.

I think my father ('83 Honda CX650c) and I ('96 GS500) pay $150 max a year combined for liability on our bikes in Texas. We have Dairyland County Mutual. Our agent said this company was alot cheaper than Progressive.
