I just chopped my fender and added an integrated clear alternatives light. In my rush to get the bike back together I put the rear fairing back on the bike and forgot to attach the release cable to the locking mechanism on the bike before putting on the seat. The cable is connected to the lock put that is useless to me. How can I remove the seat without cutting it or the fender.
not same exact situation, but- i slapped my seat on when i had my tail fairings off not thinking i didn't have the latch connected. i cut clothes hanger up and made a straight piece of wire with a short hook on the end. would slid it into the slot where cable original went, hook the latch, pull towards you, and lift up on seat. now doing that with tail fairings on will be a bit more tricky.
hopefully someone will know of a better way to get at it with fairings on
Cut a small slot in the fender just behind the lock bracket/frame bridge. Then use a hooked pick.
That hole you can tape pff from the top side with duct tape, and since that part is near about invisible wihtout lying under the bike, no one will know.

Fender is - what - like 3 screws holding it on?
Remove the fender then reach up and release the seat. Or just loosen the fender enough to reach in. Use a screw driver or bent stiff wire to flip the seat latch lever.
Probably you can reach in and release the seat with a long pick and a good flash light. Put pressure on the back of the seat so it is easier to flip the seat latch. A seat can put tension on the seat latch making it harder to flip.
adidasguy was right - When I looked at the fender it was being held in place by 4 bolts which were threaded from the wheel well. I removed the fender which gave me free access to the locking mechanism. I was able to release it with my finger by pushing it to the left and popped the seat off. Reattached the cable put the fender back on returned the tool kit to its place and was done in about 5 minutes. Thank you for your help!!!
