Title: Oil leak between Cylinders and block
Post by: gregvhen on July 25, 2011, 03:14:20 PM
I haven't posted here in quite some time now because my bikes been down, but I finally got it back together yesterday after replacing my valves, (much more power now by the way) but its leaking oil right in the center where the jugs meet the block. It leaked a little bit before I did the valves because I had reused that gasket, but when I put it all together yesterday I used new gaskets and now its leaking even more.  Has anyone else had this problem?  I splooged some silicone around the area for the time being but obviously I have to fix it right. Im thinking I'll pull the jugs up and put a light bead of ultra black on both sides of the gasket and see if that stops it.  If not I can only think that the jugs have a small crack, but I highly doubt thats the case.

I wouldn't use any sealant. If it breaks loose or squishes out on the inside,it could plug oil passages.I would tear it apart and look for old gasket that didn't get scraped off or a nick in the gasket surface. If it's a nick in the gasket surface,a machine shop can re work the gasket surface.May add a little more compression to the engine.Shouldn't cost much, maybe an hour of shop time.
