Title: Easy way to remove Gaskets?
Post by: zkbuck on July 26, 2011, 06:00:03 AM

I'm putting a gasket kit into my 98GS (just the basics not a full tear down) to stop the leaks on the oil pan and the clutch cover mostly and the old ones are stuck on there pretty good, i spent 4 hours last night and have the clutch cover about half way cleaned off   >:(. is there a product out there or just an easier way (other then scrapeing it off with a razer blade) to get this hard stuck on gasket off?

We use LOCTITE 79040 at work and it really works good. As said above though, it will strip paint and it will burn the skin on contact
