Title: Starter Solonoid question - Narrowing it down finally
Post by: numus on July 28, 2011, 02:58:52 PM
Got the battery load tested.. it came out good... Just checked the generator and rectifier.. both seem good... but when i put my key to on, the power system didnt start... checked the positive to ground.. good.. starter solonoid (fromt positive) to ground.. good...
start solonoid (from negative) to ground and it seemed to click.. then the power system started to work...

was thinking about buying something like this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/01-Suzuki-GS500E-GS500-Starter-Solenoid-/250767251199 to replace it, but i also need the connector that the 4 wires go into.. any idea where i can get the whole assembly?

Go to your local atv shop and ask for QuadBoss starter relay part number 49-5277.It should be $19.95.

I'm not sure on the fuse holder. All of my bikes have the fuse in a separate location behind the batter next to the negative battery cable. It's under the little black square cap in this pic.You can barely see it on the left center.

I think it will clip over them, but I'm not 100% on that. Now that I see your pic,I think my 92 might be like that.We are having T storms tonight,so I don't wanna be stuck in my metal car port on top of a hill.I'll check it tomorrow and see.
