Title: new chain initial care

ok i just ordered a new chain... its a cheap one cause im broke, should i do anything to it before i put it on? soak it in hot oil? I wanna try to make this thing work till i can afford a nice DID

Make sure you wax/lube it after you put it on and do it every couple hundred miles...

Hope you got an o-ring chain.  But just make sure it's not too loose or tight.  Lube it at least once per tank full (thats what I try to do).  From what I've read/heard it's best to lube right after a ride while it is still hot.

Yep.O ring chains seem to aide in sprocket and chain longevity.
