Title: Handlebars downunder.
Post by: slipperymongoose on August 01, 2011, 03:25:16 AM
Hi all while putting my k3 back together I noticed my OEM handlebars had some rust spots so just wondering what handlebars are available/legal down here. I've read a few threads and from what I can gather the bars need to be 7/8ths and clear the top clamps. Any ideas on where to start?

Just take them along with you to a motorcycle shop and go to the dirt bike section and try and match them up to some nice Renthal or Pro Taper ones. You will have to drill holes in them to accommodate the little lugs for your hand controls so you may also need to buy a small metal bit for your drill.

Sweet cheers I'll start looking. Plus side is I've got most drill bit sizes but thanks.

I got some sm bars and grips on this forum for about 170 inc postage from the us. Well, I paid for them at least. Before that, I went to motociclio in sydney and bought laverda jota bars. Theyre decent enough too, but pricy!!
