Title: Indicators mod
Post by: Patrick_NL on August 02, 2011, 04:25:36 AM
Hi guys,
I decided to make some changes  to my GS500F.
1 Change the front indicators from stock to mirror intergrated.
2 Change the stock backlight to a indicators intergrated backlight.
The idea is to completely remove the front/back indicators from sight.

Before i touch anything i need to ask a couple of questions.

1. is it really as simple as disconnecting / reconnecting the stock wires to the new wires?
2. Does anyone know how i could cover the holes my front indicators left behind?

Thanks in advance

I recently bought a gs500e and will be upgrading everything to make it a gs500f. I already have all my fairings. Oil cooler and pan are next. But i cut the rear fender and removed the OEM rear stalks and replaced them with shorter and LED indicators off ebay. They were clear lens but i VHT Niteshading them, hit them with a clear coat and mounted them. They were as simple as PnP and work fine. Next are Ebay mirrors for the front with LEDs in them.

Ok so what your saying is keep the indicators on the front and ad the mirrors with indicators for extra functionality?

Exactly. As for covering the holes, I would fiberglass it and paint them afterwards.
