Title: Site upgrade woes.
Post by: Toogoofy317 on August 02, 2011, 06:52:46 PM
Okay, not really digging the new layout right now. I don't see any smilies or bold and italics options. I can't even get into the main forum without internal server error I can maybe get everyother page in O&E area.

Anyone else with these issues?

Mary

I'm doing fine.
yamahonkawazuki is having lots of problems getting to the boards. He can PM me. He's updates everything on his system but now I am at a loss. He gets internal server errors.
Maybe the admins can contact him and help him. He's going through withdrawal pains.

It will keep Yama's postwhoring down  :thumb:

Apart from the main menu of each forum having no discernible difference between threads, it's working a treat.

I am looking into teh problem of internal server error.

I am wondering if the server is timing out on the load.

It's different...the sticky's don't stay at the top anymore...the lines separating the threads don't show up (not that big of deal)...but it all works for me, just different and will take a bit of time to get used to it...

Stickies don't stay at the top? They do for me. They are, and stay, where they have always been.  :dunno_black:

Things are OK on my systems. Running Winduhrs 7 and everything is up to date.
Could it be versions if:
Flash?
Java?
IE?

Those with problems should say
. What browser and version
. What version of Windows and did you run a Windows update?
. Is Flash and Java up to date?

Any other sites give you problems?

Owning a software company, we hear things like that. Imagine going to a garage and saying "my car no work. Fix it".
You need to give details - more than "it broke". For a car, you'd say if you tried starting it, the sound it makes, etc.
For software? People never think that's important.

Details are needed which include:
1. What screen were you on? Could you even get on the main opening screen?
2. What did you click on?
3. How long did you wait for some response?
4. What was the response? Wrong screen? Error message screen?
5. If an error - what was it? Include a screen snapshot or write down EXACTLY the error screen and the message.
6. What time did this happen? (So the admin can look at the error log).
7. Did you shut down the computer, restart and try again with the same results?

Also important:
Could it be versions if:
Flash?
Java?
IE?

Those with problems should say
. What browser and version
. What version of Windows and did you run a Windows update?
. Is Flash and Java up to date?

Any other sites give you problems?

Remember the admins are not looking over your shoulder so they don't know what you're doing. At least a car you can take to a mechanic and they can start it up. You can't take your computer to the admins for them to look at. You must give them as many details as possible.

Guys Can you please give me browser versoin (firefox / ie / chrome etc )
which page, and what time you got on. Whats yoru OS too.

This website is not dependent on anything but browser, no java/flash requirement for this site. So if its not working, its not working.. now to figure out why

Well, I was going to do all the Addidas asked but couldn't get in. For me it just wasn't on one computer. My netbook running Windows 7, BF Desktop running XP, and my desktop on XP that I tried IE 8, Safari and Mozilla on. Safari had just been updated that night. My netbook has the latest and greatest of everything being that is for school I am meticulus at keeping everything updated and running smooth on it.

Seems a bit better today but I've only tried O&E thus far. But, Flick is in a crisis right now and if I can't get into the main boards I might scream!

Well, my cache is cleared I got the latest Flash, quicktime, adobe, and whatever you can think of updated. And I still can't get into the main area! No main area and just a few of O&E and still no smilies. I've also added Opera onto the list no deal. I just keep getting the 404 message it doesn't even act like it is loading just goes right to the error page.

I've even tried Opera no deal! I can't even update my entries have to do new ones every time. As soon as I click 404 server error immediately. The PC doesn't even think about it. I really need to get info for Flick and am getting annoyed. This shouldn't be occuring on 3 different PC's with 4 different browsers. This is the only website I'm having issues with

Its on your end. I'm going to post this problem on SMF.

If you want add that problem post in here on O&E for now.. until we figure this one out.

This is what I get:

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@gstwins.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I am going to have to fix the theme issue. Lets just say the upgrade did not go as smoothly as I wanted.

I am going to back it up again and redeploy from scratch so there are no old files from 1.1.14 on the server.

I'll give you a dark theme. I have to uninstall the other themes and then I'll add a dark theme. My default theme used to be a dark one too.

Right now nobody has options to change their theme (well except the admins). I'll try fix it by this weekend. I am hunting down other issues so I'll fix them one by one.

Edit: Dark theme's are installed.. go ahead change them.
