UPDATED (9/19/11)
I have purchased a purple 1994 GS500E. Was told it was a '93, ran the VIN, and the guy shorted himself a year haha. The bike is in excellent condition, but has been abandoned for a few years(it was left as rent collateral.) Previously owned by a mechanic, and looks very well taken care of. It has 23,817 miles on the clock. Located in Radford, VA(24141)
PAYMENT - Paypal ONLY! steezin_and_wheezin@yahoo.com
Post up or PM with parts you need, and your offer.

I'm interested in the carbs and maybe that HIDEOUS purple gas tank, depending on condition, but IIRC, you're on the Right Coast, so shipping would probably break my bank...
Come to think of it, I could also use the clutch and brake levers, the clutch lever cover, and various other small items, but I can't list them all here, I'm groggy from my meds...
I'll send you a PM with an offer for the carbs, but you're probably better off selling them to someone closer, who isn't poverty-stricken...
Id get it too, but I have a problem controlling my obsession with buying cheap bikes.
I would be interested in the speedo/tach cluster and it's meter bracket and also the Front fender with mud guard.
I would be interested in the cylinder head. PM sent :D
Where are you located?
damn meant to add that in OP, the bike will be located in Radford, VA(southwest Virginia)
I would be interested in the headlight and mounting brackets if I haven't found one by the time you get the bike.
Dude thats a good find, I don't think you'll have a tough time parting that out!
I know West Seattle would be interested in the forks if they're nice and straight. Dibs!
I noticed the center piece that ties the 2 rear fairings together under the grab bar is black. I want it, please!
going up tomorrow after work to check it out. if she passes the test, i'll be bringin her home!
Miles in the blur (blown up pic) look to be 27k ish... Frame and wheels look cleaner than your average 30 k bike ( exhaust too )
yer close, i got word back and there's 23,817 on the clock. it was originally owned by a mechanic who took immaculate care of her(shown by the condition after sitting for a few years.) also found out its got a fox shock, which i found interesting
I'll pass on those carbs; shipping them across the country will break my budget. Good luck with the sale; I hope you find buyers for every single part...
Might be interested in tank, let me know.
Mark.
Absolutely, positively, 100% interested in the tank and fenders. If you give me a decent price on the lot, consider it SOLD.
Seriously! I will buy them RIGHT NOW!
NO LONGER A FEELER THREAD! :woohoo:
i will be on vacation this weekend, but starting next week- priority #1 is breaking this bike down. the guy said he could NOT get it titled, but i've found a few loop holes i'm going to pursue. if all goes as planned i'll be able to sell the titled frame to someone in need as well.
going to start with the dib system. i have started a list of people that have asked for parts. feel free to ask for anything(via pm or posting) and i'll put you on the list.
the only things not for sale are the white rims and fox shock(unless i get an offer i can't refuse :D)
updated original post!

I need a clutch switch. I dont think it was called already. I assume it will work on a '02. If you have this I will PM you.
Clutch switch on newer bikes is a single switch assembly, connected with 2 spade terminals.
Older bikes is a PC board with the wires soldered to it and a separate wiper assembly consisting of a plastic piece, spring and brass wiper.
Not compatible without changing wiring.
We do need the older style wiper piece for our build. Those always get broken because people forget to remove the switch parts before changing clutch levers (well, new ones break for the same reason).
We do have a tank available if anyone else needs a tank and a bazillion sets of tail plastics.
Could use the starter solenoid if it's available. Will send PM.

Sorry all ... I purchased the speedo/tach assembly. Received the package last night. It's in great shape. Thanks steezin_and_wheezin!!!!
Do you have the engine left side (alternator) cover still? Did you sell the emblem off of it yet? My left side cover is trashed, emblem is not mandatory though. Let me know how much you want for it.
Recieved my package today. Thanks for getting it out so quick steezin!!
Received my second package Friday. Thanks for the quick ship!
Looking for the entire keyed set (ignition, fuel cap, seat lock). Any chance thats still available?
BUMP!
was on a 4 day weekend last weekend. i have replied all pm's, updated the sold list, and shipped all packages.
i blew out my knee over the weekend(time for my 3rd knee surgery..) so the pressure to move these parts has gone up a bit. i'll be beginning to list all left over parts on fleabay in the next few weeks.
please let me know if there's anything you need before it gets listed.
Just sent you another PM... NO RUSH on a reply... THIRD knee reconstruction??? Man, you're a GLUTTON for punishment, but I respect that... most injuries heal with time (and good surgical techniques)... and you already know what you've got to do to get past this...
Kick ass man... sooner or later, I'll be shopping for some titanium knees, just got some other stuff to deal with in the meantime...
pm's replied :thumb:

Gotta be a better way or this parts whore is going to have to pass on it.
(FYI: Did get couple other regulators so OK someone else got yours.)
Do have a lead on a 2004 engine in Seattle for $300, which would be a nice complement to the free 2006 engine. Trey is marking his territory so I have been thinking about replacing the engine in addition to doing the bike build.
it'll sit here then haha unless i use a piggy back on ground hound or something similar- shipping the engine UPS is the easiest for me.
135lb package shipped 2,700 miles = Cash Money. + shipping materials(crate or box) also its not like me tossing a part in a pack and hauling it with me on the moto to work(i use my UPS pickup from work) so all in all 300 shipped for an engine isn't a terrible :dunno_black: [/mini rant]
i'm not trying to make every coin for the engine i can, but i can't bend over backwards on it
OK. Now I have a weight to work with.
Still looking at the 2004 engine locally as another project part (yes - I'm a parts whore, I know I can change, if I have to, I guess...)
I'll see what a UPS pickup would be since I can (hush!) run that through my business. I really want more than one engine for projects to rip apart and learn on and put back together. I'll keep you updated but if someone wants it, let them have it.
This is what I've learned on the local 20004 motor - so waiting for my fellow West Seattle Club Members to chime in on this one.
Im pretty sure it had 14k on it I bought a "built" motor for the bike soon after we got it, if I remember right it was due for a valve adjust and the girl I bought the bike from said that she was adjusting 1 of the valves more than the others it still was running strong wen pulled we just had to gs'es and I wanted them to perform equally. =) I also hav a nice 05 front wheel I purchased the front wheel from ebay thinking it was a rear wheel took it to the bike shop had a larger than stock rear tire mounted on it then when I got home i realized that it was equipped for a speedometer I realized I have the front wheel instead of the rear wheel OOPS..!
"Front" wheel=$60
Drand new
Rear dunlop D205 140/80-17=$80
Front Sport max qualifier 120/70-17=$80
did i catch a niner in there? hahah not sure where the last half of that post trailed off to, but:
a GS engine weighs ~125lb. to ship UPS ground you have to keep in under 150lbs(or else it has to go UPS freight) that means no crate if shipped UPS ground. then that entails me finding/purchasing a multi walled corrugated cardboard box that can withstand the UPS man dropping, kicking, and cursing a 135lbs package for 2700 miles haha
if you can find a better way to ship, please let me know. i don't mind letting the engine go for dirt cheap, especially if its to another gstwinner.
got a bidder :woohoo:
bump!
original post updated
engine shipped, frame's getting taken away after work, and i will get a couple photos of all the left over parts tonight.
cleaning the last of everything and getting the junk out of here. i'll be bringing home a black/silver 2006 gsF with minor engine work. if i can't get it back in running shape, be on the watch out for another part out thread haha
frame, tank, spare set of headers, and old battery gone! :woohoo:
found the ad on craigslist, thought it was just going to be a scrap yard. turned out it was some guy that was looking for a project. he wasn't very familiar with the gs. i had to take a few more parts off the frame before i gave it up. so we chatted while i wrenched, went and showed him my 04. he seemed pretty stoked. he was interested in any/all other parts i had..
i just sent him photos and my offer, but wanted to give the twinners one last chance to get anything they need:
-rear mud guard with blinkers
-rear tail light
-exhaust(has some scratches)
-battery trey
-rear sets, all 4 pegs, and brake/shifter levers
-dog bones
-stands(center and kick)
-rear master cylinder and brake arm
-air box
-front and rear axles
-swing arm(complete)
-horn
-crankcase(no crankshaft), side cover, and oil pan
-chain guard
-rear shock(w/knuckle)
-top and lower triples
-brake calipers
-mirrors
-handlebars
-rear grab bar
-grips
-balancer shaft
-clutch
-mounting hardware for 2004+ fairings
-windshield
-box of misc. engine and body hardware
getting lazy, but here's a couple general photos of the lot. i have better shots of all parts, let me know if you want to see something upclose.
