Do you have the mounting hardware for the optional headlight fairing?

Which one and what year?89 never had a fairing or mounts in US.I made custom mounts for my Targa 1/4 fairing and the Suzuki one wasn't available with mounts for the 89 style clip on bars.I searched for a year before I found out.

Here was my 89 when it was stock except for the 04 gas tank. These mounts were custom and based on the Targa mounts.I don't run GS front ends any more so all that stuff is gone.

US had 2 types of headlight cowlings. Nearly identical except for a mounting bracket (see parts lists for 89-200 bikes). I have one or more of each with mountings. Only one belly pan for 89-2000.

There was a full fairing which I don't think was available in the US. I bought one from England. They do show up every couple months on www.ebay.de (Germany) The mounting bracket and some of the separate parts are on ebay.com right now, but not a complete one.

Back to the part-out: How are the forks? We need a set for the bike build. I think we also need the front brake master, line & calipers.

Where in Oregon are you? Its not in your profile.

Do you still have the speedometer/Tachometer cover, AKA the black case thing the speedometer and Tachometer go in? If so how much?

Do you happen to have the carburetors?
Title: Re: 1989 gs 500 part out
Post by: oregon250exc on August 10, 2011, 08:20:03 PM
I have the carbs. The bike was running when i tore it apart but the carb could use a good cleaning and the jets are know in my buddies carb so a jet kit would be required. How about 20 bucks? i can take some pics. I really want this stuff gone and would like to see it used out on the street again instead of a scrap pile so guys make offers and lets make my wife happy>>>>>>>>>>> O0

I'll take those carbs if the other guy passes on them; I already have the jets and internals... PM me if they're still available, and let's do some business. I'm south of you, so shipping shouldn't cost an arm and a leg...

Great. I'm just across the West Seattle bridge off of I-5 at the south end of Seattle (after you pass Boeing Field).
You can see the new bike cave and drop off parts.
If good, we can use the forks.
We're OK on wheels, plastics, bars, wiring, seats and gas tank. An extra frame wouldn't hurt as one bike needs a straight one, in addition to our bike we're building. Bring title with frame. I'll have cash.
PM'ing you with phone and address.

I'm looking for a keyed set of ignition/filler cap/seat lock. I would, however, take only the ignition/seat lock if they work well. Any chance you still have them?

On a scale of 1 to 10, hows the condition of the tank?  Is it still available?  Will it fit on a '97?  Please reply to nothingultra@gmail.com, as I might not check back here in time.
