I went and picked up a parts bike, January of 1989 GS500E (Mine is a 2/89).
I'm currently torn wether to fix it up and ride it or just part it. It's a complete bike minus tank. He gave me a rusted out 05 Tank lol and told me I could get a hundred bucks for it on ebay cause I have the key :dunno_black: I can get it to crank, haven't touched it much more than that. Has later carbs off of it and a weird header with a Yoshi pipe, I'm assuming the header is a Yoshi too and these weird little things on the pegs, my buddy said they are foot rests. 19k miles. Oil looks clean though it's been sitting a while.
My question to you is would you try to fix it or just part it out? I'll post some better pics later. And is it really possible for this to function like a normal bike with later carbs on such an old model? I've taken my 89 carbs apart more times than I can count but the ones on this new bike are just downright weird looking, lots of rubber lines going every where. The bike has been low sided, rashed up muffler, headlight and brake lever.

+1
Restore.
Someone should donate a left side ignition wire :)
Same crap as old toyota truck/car. In fact you can use one off nearly any car, but I prefer metal core instead of the graphite impregnated fiber core ... so old car.
Cool.
Buddha.

In today's terms, anything built before this year.In my terms, anything that is beyond repair.
