I have a '75 CL360 (Honda) that had a leaky fork seal - so I pulled the forks and took them apart, and the seals wouldn't come out. So I tried to heat the forks (per my haynes repair manual) to get them out, and that didn't help.
Next, I tried cutting them out, and they basically are crumbling as they come out.............so my question is, does anybody know a way to get the 35+ year old rubber remenants that is stuck to the fork off?
I'm about to go at it with some sandpaper but that might take a while. Any other ideas?
well had same problem but not as pain. two of us pulled their end as hard we could= did the job
one or two quick and hard pulls
I don't think that would have done it in my case - the rubber would have crumbled using that method.
