I only have my dirtbike (kx 250) and the msf course bike(comet 250) i rode as comparisons but im wondering if my friction zone is correct...On my dirtbike i have to give it throttle in order to even start rolling or else i will stall it, thats normal on my MX bike. On the msf course bike i could let the clutch out slightly and i could "walk" the bike without giving it any throttle and even build up enough speed to jsut coast on the clutch out. But on my gs500 if i dont give it any throttle it will stall out just like my dirtbike. I dont need to get the revs nearly as high as i would on my dirtbike but i do need to give some throttle to start rolling.
Is this normal?

MSF bikes are geared really low... you could practically pop the clutch on one and not kill it.
if i let the clutch on my GS out really slow, I can walk it without giving it throttle.

I second this. During my MSF class they told us pretty much any bike you ride you should practice walking the bike by slipping the clutch, or using the friction zone, before you ride. On a flat planed surface (the parking lot), I am able to let my clutch out to the point where the revs drop, and walk my bike around. I haven't tried starting out like this though.
