Title: Paintshop favour/Decals question
Post by: fraze11 on August 22, 2011, 06:41:09 AM
Is there anyone here kind enough and paintshop savvy to show me what my bike would look like without the GSF and faring graphic on my bike?  I want to get rid of the faring graphics and the other stuff...but before I do would like to see what it would look like?  Also, have any of you with an F removed your faring decals before?  It *appears* as though I could remove it all...it looks like its "one big sticker" ... but don't wanna bugger up my faring either...

Would probably be easier and cheaper to see if someone has scuffed fairings that they want to trade.... Since you are going to have to sand the decals off and repaint...

When I was adding fairing to my "E" I took a set of '04 Yellow with sickers on the plastics, and they came off surprisingly easy.  They were on top of the clear so really no need to sand & re-paint.

I'm not sure about the stickers on the tank, they may be under the clear.  Somebody else may know...............I know they were under on my "E" tank which is still on the bike.

Thanks.  I know when I look at the faring stickers they arent under any clear and it *appears* as though I can just peel it back.  I dont want to touch the tank or the rear, JUST the faring.  Thanks for the response.

Those are both GREAT, thanks so much!  Gives me a perfect visual as to how it would look in either scenario.  Now to decide what to do...

Thanks again,

Why on earth would he need to sand them off?  :cookoo: Take a blow drier and they come off rather easy a quick wipe down with goo gone and you cant tell they were ever there. Flick hasnt had stock decals for 3 years.

Sorry thought he was going to repaint and take them off the gas tank too... If that was the case find someone with scuffed fairings and offer them a trade + they pay a little cash and you can make out better in the deal...

I took the stickers off my F fairings. They just peeled off, no problem. Except the tank stickers. Those are under the clearcoat. Honestly, I wish I hadn't done it now. I'll be having my fairings repainted over the winter...
