Title: Goodbye for Now
Post by: ver4 on August 22, 2011, 09:09:11 AM
I'm leaving for the US Air Force basic training tomorrow, but today my recruiter is sending me to the hotel near the MEPS (Military Entrance Processing) building.  Tomorrow I go through my official swearing in, so I won't be able to post for a while.  Be safe, everyone, and I'll be back on in a few months.

I'm back, but not really.  I just graduated yesterday and off to Tech School I go on Monday.  I hope to purchase another bike within a year or two after I pay off my car.  I hate riding around seeing people on bikes and knowing I can't have one right now.

Your thinking the right way. Pay off the car before buying something else. I've seen too many young people fresh in the military get in way over their heads with car/motorcycle debt. Are American bases surrounded by used car dealerships filled with repossessions like so many Canadian military bases?

Thank you for the congrats.  Looks like I'll be stationed in Italy after hot training, so I don't know the likelihood of buying a bike now.

When in Italy, ride as the Italians! Ducati? Aprilia?
