OK so i searched and was not able to find the answer i am looking for so I will give it a try asking here.
1st let me say that I know the gas level is supposed to be at the same height as the gasket on the carb.
2nd mine are set properly as I double checked them after I set them
I also synced the carbs and checked for vacuum leaks before posting this.
here is my question.
When the floats start to raise and shut off the gas how quickly do they shut the gas off completely and what is the height difference between when they start to shut off the gas and completely shut off the gas. My situation is this, my carbs height is set but the level stops about 3/8" below the gasket surface. they slowly fills up until it stops at the correct level. I would be OK with this but after riding around and coming to a stop the bowls are not filling up quick enough for me to take off from a stop normal without having to rev the bike up to 3k-3500k to take off form a stop. if i am at the light for a while and the carbs can fill back up it acts normal.
So do I buy new floats and new needles to correct this?
will anything in the carb need to be resurfaced for the new needles?
when the needle starts to shut off the fuel is it more positive or is the slight, Ill call it drift, normal?
If it is normal how do i correct it so it is more consistent when riding?
