Title: highway pegs/ bars N E one thought about OR done???
Post by: ashman on November 23, 2003, 02:24:09 PM
I like sport bikes but my long legs need some room. I'm sure SOMEONE has put some highway pegs on their GS. I've seen something about it w/ engine guards mounted. I want to stay away from guards, can I bolt some pegs to the frame or something. Iching for a good, long fall trip, need some comfort first.

I have the stock engine guards.  they come up high enough above the engine to allow me to use the guards themselves as highway pegs.  works pretty well, and doesn't look as goofy as actually mounting pegs on them.

well, nothing says you can't get an extra long upper engine mount bolt, and rig something where you mount the pegs to that...  of course, you can get the longer bolt from the engine guard kit   Or find pegs that allow you to clamp it directly to the square frame tubes.

I just put my feet on my case engine guards :)  <-- i must have been tired when i wrote this... case engine?  :?
