Why are they racing 60 - 70 year old planes? Surely they can make modern ones to do that with. Let the old ones just cruise past in airshows not put to their limits that were designed in WW2.

this was a freak occurence. these aircraft are certified by teh FAA, sometimes we,, for lack of a better term, the shaZam! breaks. alot of it is modern construction. a modern p51 doesnt exist. , well theres a copy or two. but well this was just a freak occurence. well both were. somethign broke, in both of the. which could as easily happen in modern craft as well, was talking wiht jimmy leeward on facebook not even an hour before the flight. which was weird. signsoff saying , " time to race" or somehtign like that, then i step out fora while , come back in and msn is blowing up. wiht his crash, then the other one too

i had access via his FB acct to a live feed from his planes camera. i recorded this. once NTSB is doen wiht it. will post it.unless family doesnt want it done. was odd talking wiht him via messenger. says " gotta go. race starting. will be back as soon as im finished. "also recorded teh radio transmission from tower, aircraft and rescue units. but it scrambled. well is hard to understand what was beign said. watching people die. works me over kinda bad.  kinda rehashes some ptsd issues from a couple years ago. plus deaths in fam. etc. but he was staring death in teh face. knew it was coming. yet got plane as far away from a direct collision from centre of stands as he was able to do. you could see when he was inbound toward ground. nose was pointed at centre of stand. but he contacted to left of stands. deathswere more from debris and parts beign scattered than anythign else. GOD  speed to those killed/injured
