Title: For Sale Custom Frame Sliders
Post by: reload on September 22, 2011, 04:58:53 PM
While I was searching for frame sliders I noticed there wasn't alot of choices and what is available didn't really appeal to me. I ended up settling on the R&G sliders, but since I now have a good machinist I decided to make a custom set  :D.

Slider is in transparent for illustration purposes. I just did this layout in solidworks, no samples yet.

Price will prob be around $50-75. Final price will depend on how many orders are accumulated of course.

EDIT 7/7/2014: thread resurrection. just a few years later haha

made these prototypes. its an aluminum base with delrin sliders. the sliders are replaceable if damaged. hardware is all stainless.

these do not require any modification to the bike to install.

EDIT 8/13/2014

Installed the first set. Here's how they look. I stood with my entire body weight on 1 peg and it didn't budge.

Final price looks like it will be $80.

if you could get a picture of it on your gs that would be awesome as i am looking for some sliders and the R&G would be about the same price. Selling it through ebay and using pay pal would help the security issues with money as well if you are looking to sell in quantity.

hmm. hard to get a pic since this isn't a reality yet. basically its a 1.5 inch diameter x 6 inch long tube

the r&g's cost a little more than a 100 after shipping and all in the states.

It's nice you want to offer to "help out the community".
That being said.. I thought the R&G one, had some kind of shock-absorbing spring built into it.

I dont see any indication of that on yours.

Personally, I'd spend the extra $20 or whatever, for the extra cushion in the R&G

R&G does not have a spring.
I haven't seen any with a spring.

FYI, there are now US distributors for it. So I paid $88 + shipping($11) for mine this month.

You should do a replaceable Delrin cap on it. I'd buy that.

How far past the engine covers do they extend on either side? I'm interested in something that extends out further than the R&G.
