Title: WTB Exhaust
Post by: Flux Maven on September 29, 2011, 08:26:39 PM
Ok so I just got my first street bike, its a GS500E  and although it is fast as holy hell (compared to my TS125) it doesn't growl at me like I would like it to. I got on ebay and you can still pick up the full V&H kit for around $300 or a little more the Jardine and yosh but my bike needs a new rear tire. I don't really have the money for $300 exhaust and a new tire so if anyone has some old exhaust they dint need that they could part with for under $150ish I would love to hear about it. condition doesn't really matter I live on a gravel road and its a daily driver so it will get dinged up anyway. Thanks in advance and I love this site. I was going to buy a clymer manual for basic maintenance. but everything I need is on here.  :D

Used harley sportster muffler for .99c on ebay.

Gut the insides, get a mid pipe made and welded (40 bucks) and your set.

Sounds good, looks good, flows GREAT compared to stock, and the engine and exhaust dont get nearly as hot.

Look for my threads for the sound.

Wow sounds great! I will look into that. Probably a dumb question but will I need to rejet the carbs if I use the sportster exhaust?

If you debaffle it, yeah.

If not, nah.

Or, if your like me and have a dirty ass filter, you can buy some time and ride with it, even debaffled.
