Title: Deal too good to be true?
Post by: kcmop8ntballa on October 02, 2011, 11:29:08 AM
Hey everybody, I just recently bought a used '93 gs500e and Im looking to replace the chain and sprockets. I found this deal on ebay but for 130 dollars it seems like its to good to be true. Has anybody delt with RPE Motorcyle before? The last thing I want is for the chain to come flying off when im riding.

here is the link:

Hi. I paid £70 for my chain & sprockets on the ebay. That's about $100-130 not sure. Either way they have been fantastic, not one problem.

Looks good to me  :thumb:

Seems legit. You aren't getting a Renthal <sarcasm>XLWEROIAHAOP</sarcasm> series chain for that price, but I've seen decent chains for <$60, and certainly seen sprockets for that price. If in doubt, ask about the component brands and do your own research.

It's probably legit. The guy has a great seller rating. Those people really don't like to screw people because as you climb higher Ebay will slap you down harder when you get a complaint.

You're not getting a race-class chain or anything. As far as I can see it's a no name chain/sprocket kit. Price seems right.
