Bought one! Thanks Burning!
I have a low mileage (~4000) stock shock floating around. Make an offer. :)

Did you get my PM?
If Burning doesn't answer, I have a spare also, 12K on her.
I have a feeling he will though...

PM sent to you too!
I've got a stock one off an 04 if those fell through.
There's this one. I've bought from these guys. Their parts are always good and accurately described.

$5 + 15 shipping? Oh man, that's quite a steal! I wonder how used it is though... I told Burning I'd buy his. But it's good to know shocks are so readily available and cheap. If only the same is true for OEM chin spoilers!
I'm not going to take it personally if you pick up someone else's shock. I usually don't sweat anything under ~$50 or so. :)
They were parting out an 06 with 24000 miles.
I picked up a few parts for a steal. Got a set of carbs for $25 for parts (75% off). Something I can rip apart and not feel guilty. 09 stator $20, 09 starter motor $12.50.
PS: Shock gone. I was watching it, now sold.
Seems going rate for a rear used shock is $25 + p&h.
Pinwall is good in that they give the miles from the bike and have good photos

Things to remember when buying from bike breakers - they usually have good photos and point out any defects. If they don't give the mileage, you can often find it on another part from the same bike. Some show photos of the bike (some are really crashed up).
They often go by a standard price for the part - whatever the year or condition. $24.95 for a shock, $14.95 for brake calipers, and so forth. Whatever the condition or year - same price usually. They don't have time to individually price a part. Some tiny stuff sometimes is more than new (i.e. mud guard on bottom of swing arm often more than new).
I buy if they have a sale and buy parts from low mileage bikes.
If someone here has a pristine shock, yes, more than $24.95 would be fine.
You might hit it lucky and find a pristine shock from a breaker, low mileage for $20 or 25. or on sale for $5. Parts come and go really fast for good ones so you have to watch. When a good deal - buy it for a spare. Its all luck, timing and what squid crashed up his bike.

Yea, I hear ya. Got a few black ones laying around (unused) but haven't figured out what to price them at. Amazing what I find as I sort out the bike cave.
