What do you think of a ban on the chemical hydrogen dioxide?
Seems they have been putting it in all our food and other stuff.

Can you bring us up to speed on the who, what, how, when, and why? I haven't heard of this.

Yes, and the occupy movement has submitted it in their manifesto. Line item #2 I believe.
However they are also really thinking it may be very hard to enforce it universally, but never mind that, they are on the case.
Cool.

I'd be more concerned with Dihydrogen Monoxide. I mean...

Dihydrogen monoxide is colorless, odorless, tasteless, and kills uncounted thousands of people every year. Most of these deaths are caused by accidental inhalation of DHMO, but the dangers of dihydrogen monoxide do not end there. Prolonged exposure to its solid form causes severe tissue damage. Symptoms of DHMO ingestion can include excessive sweating and urination, and possibly a bloated feeling, nausea, vomiting and body electrolyte imbalance. For those who have become dependent, DHMO withdrawal means certain death, 100% of the time!!!

Dihydrogen monoxide:

  • is also known as hydroxyl acid, and is the major component of acid rain.
  • contributes to the "greenhouse effect."
  • may cause severe burns.
  • contributes to the erosion of our natural landscape.
  • accelerates corrosion and rusting of many metals.
  • may cause electrical failures and decreased effectiveness of automobile brakes.
  • has been found in excised tumors of terminal cancer patients.

Contamination is everywhere...

Quantities of dihydrogen monoxide have been found in almost every stream, lake, and reservoir in America and Australia. But the pollution is global, and the contaminant has even been found in Antarctic ice. DHMO has caused millions of dollars of property damage but nothing is done to stop it.

Despite the danger, dihydrogen monoxide is often used:

  • as an industrial solvent and coolant.
  • in nuclear power plants.
  • in the production of styrofoam.
  • as a fire retardant.
  • in many forms of cruel animal research.
  • in the distribution of pesticides. Even after washing, produce remains contaminated by this chemical.
  • as an additive in certain "junk-foods" and other food products.

Also, companies dump waste DHMO into rivers and the ocean, and nothing can be done to stop them because this practice is still legal. The impact on wildlife is extreme!

The American and Australian governments have refused to ban the production, distribution, or use of this damaging chemical due to its "importance to the economic health of the nation." In fact, the navy and other military organizations are conducting experiments with DHMO, and designing multi-billion dollar devices to control and utilize it during warfare situations. Hundreds of military research facilities receive tons of it through a highly sophisticated underground distribution network. Many store large quantities for later use.

This sh!t is widespread but noone knows about it. I mean, sure the Govt knows but it makes them too much money and they won't do anything about it. Even after a recent release (2011) of the chemical in this city (Brisbane, Australia) caused many millions in damage and deaths ensued, it's still ignored. The media just reports it's all under control and people forget about it and go back about their lives, none the wiser about this chemical.

It's in bread, milk, all bought juices, deli meats, deserts, premixed cooking stock, cans of soup, cans of fish, canned vegetables, bottled/jarred fruits, margarine, softdrink. It's in just about everything. And they don't have to put Dihydrogen monoxide on the ingredients list either WTF! BUT, if you call the product Consumer Line and ask if it is in they have to tell you the truth - but whose gonna do that?

Addy, there is a difference between Dihydrogen monoxide and hydrogen dioxide in chemical naming nomelcature but the two are often confused. I'd say we are on the same page but naming it from the two different naming points available in chemistry. And hopefully my Report above will help people make a more informed decision about the sub rosa distribution of this chemical.

I just saw a test done on several of the major bottled water distributors in the US.  The results indicated 100% of the big corporations tested are selling water contaminated with this crud.  :o :o :o

You mean, Promote Awareness of the Drop Bear. I s'pose. I'd never really thought about. I'd just assumed everyone was aware, what with my close calls I had with them in Scouts. We had several tents devastated with near misses of those inside when the bears dropped down from out the trees. But now you mention it, yeah, lots of people are unaware of the danger they put themselves in, in the Aussie bush.

Drop Bear Awareness Week...
