the screws that hold the float bowls on are seized and 2 of them are stripped out so Im going to have to drill them out. Is there any easier way than drill and tap?
Drill the heads off them and remove the float bowls. The studs that remain unscrew easily, No need to tap.
No need to drill :whisper:

I done exactly what Stevo done...
No need to drill..
You can also use a rotary cutting tool to slice a slot for a flat head screw driver.
tried the vice grip thing with no luck so I guess drilling the heads off is my best bet. thanks guys!
I got the float bowls off, they look pretty clean except one side has a white dust/film all over the inside. both jets are clean though so I dont know if the carbs are the cause of my starting problem or not. what do you guys think? could the fuel filter possibly be clogged?
white dust, as in the bowels were completly dry? does the tank line drain when the tank is on prime?
I used one of those hand-held impact drivers to break the torque and then just screwed them out. Works good on stripped screws too, just place some wood directly underneath where you are hitting so you have a solid working surface and wont mess up your carbs. I got mine at sears for 25ish.
