Title: Frame sliders - At least the frame was okay
Post by: burning1 on October 15, 2011, 11:38:25 PM
Found this thread over on my home forum, BARF.

QuoteFound out my Engine Block previously had a Hole punched in it...
I was working around the right side of the engine today where I noticed a peculiar blob-ish shape around the engine block. I then realized that the previous owner of this bike went down on the right, and had cheap No-Cut frame sliders...

Those frame slider's relocation bracket bent into the engine block and punched a hole there. It looks like the repair was done with JB Weld and has been holding up so far. The previous owner then put another set of no cut sliders on so the brackets would cover the hole repair.

When I bought my bike the frame sliders were the first thing I put on. I don't understand what's so hard about cutting into the fairing to use good sliders? The instructions are easy enough to follow and perform.

If I was buying a used bike with fairings, I would definately take the fairings off to inspect.
