OT: Do you do your own powdercoating? I'm thinking of getting some stuff powdercoated in the future but don't know how things are priced. How much would it cost to powerdercoat 2 GS wheels?
Around here bike wheel go for 100-150 depending on size, prep and what paint. And yes I do my own.
bump back to the top
im sure someone needs some complete rims
off to the recycler this Friday......
Hate to see them trashed. I'm sure the West Seattle GS500 Club can put them to use on one of our projects.
Only problem with that is im on the east coast and although im not sure what they weigh, I am sure that together they aren't light
Seems most ship a rim for about $20-$30 (based on ebay search for "GS500 RIM").
I'd pay you to have the tires removed. I firmly believe in putting on new tires unless I know the tires are less than a year old.
Seattle streets, when wet, which is most of the time, do not like tires that are hard. The aggregate in most of our old concrete is polished river pebbles - round, smooth and slick. Gotta have soft, new tires.
I've bought quite a few (ok, you got me - I'm a parts whore. I can change. If I try. I guess.) Shipping has never been much of a problem. UPS or parcel post.
so..... Remove the tires, ship and bill me. If there is space, toss in anything else destined for the trash (except that fugley head lamp - unless it will scare away raccoons. :icon_rolleyes: )
If I touch up the blue, they might look cool on Trey (while he is still blue) or even Suzi (She's getting close to needing new tires. Rear is getting a little square and has some cracks from crap in the alley)
Well?
shooting some emails back and forth with a guy from CL about them.
