Anyone know of a set of feeler gauges that won't rust to shaZam!? Bought mine a little while back, pulled them out of the toolbox today and they're all rusty. Don't wanna use them cause tolerances are most likely off now. Absolute garbage...never exposed to direct moisture.
Many don't say the material. I guess high carbon steel - so just keep some oil on them.
There are some. here is one. Explore everything they have for feeler gauges. Hope this gets you started in your quest.

The more I search, the more I find. Unfortunately, they all are rather expensive. However, they won't rust so its a trade off. I get one that rusts will never be rusty until you need it. So SS does give piece of mind.
I need a set - so I'll go SS. I like not having to worry about a tool (or a battery, or....)
Here's one for $30. Needs more investigation to know the sizes.

Searched for "stainless steel gauge set"
OK - I think this is the one:

oh man, i wish i could buy everything in ss. then we wouldn't have to deal with rusty tanks, frames, tools, etc etc. strength vs price is great tho. ss is expensive and not as strong.
Got the one from Reid Supply today. Although the divisions are in inches, it also has the metric size. So - meh - if they go 0.52mm, 0.61mm, and so forth. You have the MM's and can calculate what you need anyway. Nice set. :thumb:

ebay, starrett, used. from .001"-.080" for $20-40, in a handy holder, they will last a lifetime or three.
spread them eagle after each use and dunk in 20w50 or whatever heavy oil you have, push em back together and drop em in the box. don't wipe them off.
For the price of a decent set of feelers (that you will probably only ever use 2 sizes :D) you can buy yards of shimstock. Cut and bend a 10mm strip to fit and throw it away when you are done. Its more accurate than feelers and a roll will last a lifetime, store it in your sock drawer and it will never rust :D
